Snowy Owl, first seen at about 7.30am being mobbed by seagulls and seen to fly off (N Wheatley). It was then spotted two fields away where it spent all day sitting on a wall near Boswellen Road.

It is a beautiful bird and people have been arriving everyday to catch a glimpse.

Shirley Woolcock, Paul Woolcock, Michelle Burton and gardener Colin Stephens in the garden of The Commercial Hotel in St Just, Cornwall, which has won South West Pub of the Year in Britain in Bloom.

Owner Paul Woolcock said:

“It’s a great honour, and it’s a great honour to win it for St Just. We don’t get the sun the other places do, and our part-time gardener Colin Stevens and I put a lot of work into it. I think it really shows a pride in the business, and all the pubs in St Just make a real effort.”
